Feeling overwhelmed is one of the biggest roadblocks aspiring myofunctional therapists face when starting their businesses. The to-do list feels endless—build a website, create a social media strategy, figure out your offer, get more training—and it’s easy to freeze. But overwhelm isn’t a stop sign. It’s a signal that it’s time to simplify and take bold, messy action.
At the Ditch Hygiene Academy™, I teach students that they don’t need more stuff—they need a clear, simple plan and the guts to start. In fact, one of the most powerful things I share with students is this:
Overwhelm is just fear dressed up as logic. Don’t fall for it.
Here’s a 3-step formula I use (and teach) to help you move past that stuck feeling and get momentum going in your myofunctional therapy business
1. Power Block Your Day
Block off two hours on your calendar every day. This time is for massive action—tasks that actually move your business forward. That means writing emails, making offers, connecting with referral partners, and starting client conversations. No busywork. No more rearranging your office.
2. Start Stupidly Small
Break down your next step into the smallest possible action. Instead of build a website, start with buy a domain name. Instead of start marketing, begin with identify one potential client. Tiny wins create momentum, and momentum builds confidence.
3. Rinse and Repeat
Keep doing what works. Stay in motion. Stay in the material. Your job is to keep showing up, having conversations, booking consults, and delivering incredible therapy. That’s how your business grows.
Inside Ditch Hygiene Academy™, we talk a lot about the difference between massive action (doing things that generate revenue) and passive action (doing things that feel good but don’t produce results). Learning to recognize the difference is game-changing.
The truth is, you don’t need to be 100 percent ready. You just need to begin. Your business will be built through bold, consistent steps—not perfection.
Ready to Ditch the Overwhelm?
Identify one thing you’ve been stuck on and take the smallest next step. Then, keep going. You’ve got this—and I’m cheering for you every step of the way.

Carmen
